suite in knightsbridge

The idea is to create a private oasis just for the client, a couple, to enjoy without guests or children.  Just like a hotel suite. This small, beautiful gem is in a Portland stone clad building facing a garden square just behind the Victoria and Albert Museum.  The grade II listed flat has elegant, well proportioned rooms with original ornate cornices and ceiling mouldings which have been meticulously refurbished and fitted out. On entry, one is welcome by a room with a minimalist aluminium box, looking like a Donald Judd sculpture, which can open up to turn into a full working kitchen. The game of hide and seek re-occurs in the bedroom where a wall of walnut cupboard doors has a secret door which leads into the shower room.
